The Ring

Okay, most guys don't realize this, but the diamond is actually just one part (albeit a very important part) of the ring as a whole. That's right, not only do you have to pick out the right diamond, you have to pick out the right setting for the diamond, too.

But don't worry! We haven't left you hanging thus far, and we're not going to now. Here's how to ensure the whole enchilada is worth the salsa, if you know what we mean.

The first thing to do is to listen for clues. Is she dropping words like "prong", "halo", "engraved", "solitaire", "platinum"? Or perhaps she was in the store for an event and is using even more specific names like Tacori, Veraggio, Precision Set or Ritani? If so, close your eyes and sear them into your mind (consider yourself Superman if you can successfully do this). Then fly straight to David Gardner’s and repeat what you've heard. The more specific the better. You might even get lucky and come across a wishlist she created with us detailing her dream ring!

Another approach is to take her with you to look at diamonds and settings, because, honestly, nothing beats a solid "Ooohh! I like that!" The trick is to get her to say this three or four times (which she will), and then surprise her with your own creativity by putting it all together to make one truly unique ring.

One last thing - you probably don't want just any ol' piece of wire wrapped around your finger either. Take a look at our collection of men’s bands and let her know your left hand has feelings too.
